On 25 August 2024, the Department of Intercultural German Studies at Qingdao University celebrated its 30th anniversary at a ceremony. Initiators, companions and alumni were invited to celebrate the occasion. HSF Shandong, as a long-standing supporter and in its function as the official internship training centre, was also asked to give a welcome speech. In the presence of the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in China, Dr Stephan Grabherr, long-standing supporters were honoured. These included HSF as a supporter from the very beginning. The Chief Representative of HSS Shandong, Dr Michael Klaus, who also gave the welcome speech, accepted the award.

On 25 July 2024, the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSS), in cooperation with Peking University, LMU Munich and the University of Augsburg, organized a bilingual (Chinese/German) online exchange on the topic of 'The Challenge of Digital Violence on the Internet - Criminological Issues'.
