Title: Intern; Location: Beijing, China; Minimum duration: 3 months (but does not have to be full-time); Organization: Hanns-Seidel-Foundation, Project Office Beijing

Background: The Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSS) is a German political foundation whose projects make a sustainable contribution to political education, international cooperation and international understanding. The HSS project office in Beijing works in particular in the areas of dialog on the rule of law, the advancement of women and demographic change.

1. tasks and possibilities

Internships at HSS in Beijing consist of assistance with office work, but we make every effort to personalize the content of the internship.

The tasks include, among others:

  • Translations of texts,
  • Collaboration in the planning, organization, implementation and follow-up of information and educational events,
  • Assistance in writing reports,
  • Collaboration in public relations work,
  • Research work for publications and events,
  • Documentation,
  • Support from experts and delegations,
  • Accounting support,
  • Other office communication and administrative tasks.

2. we expect

  • Very good Mandarin
  • (Very) good knowledge of English and/or German
  • Familiarity with the Hanns Seidel Foundation and its values
  • Applicants with the following academic backgrounds are particularly suitable for an internship at HSS Beijing: Linguistics, Law, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology or related fields.

3. prerequisite

  • Applicants must be enrolled at a Chinese university
  • Initial experience with text translations should be available
  • Experience in writing texts and managing digital media is required
  • Initial experience in the field of research is required
  • Ability to work conceptually, strategically and systematically, both independently and as part of a team
